Network of Alabama Academic Libraries

The purpose of the Network of Alabama Academic Libraries (NAAL) is to coordinate academic library resource sharing to enhance education and research. NAAL is an unincorporated consortium of the Alabama Commission on Higher Education and Alabama’s eligible public and private four-year colleges and universities. In addition, other research libraries not affiliated with educational institutions may join as nonvoting cooperative members.

2017 NAAL Retreat

NAAL welcomes all deans and directors of member institutions to the 2017 Retreat, which will be at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Orange Beach, Alabama from April 2-4. The event will kick off with an evening reception on Sunday, April 2. Come network with old friends and make new ones while enjoying complimentary food and beverages. On Monday, April 3, we welcome back Alabama200’s Executive Director Jay Lamar, who will provide an update about events and plans for celebrating Alabama’s Bicentennial. Additional updates about NAAL’s programs and services will follow. Then on Tuesday, April 4, Jeff Gallant, who is the Program Manager of Affordable Learning Georgia, will identify ways to launch an Open Education Resources (OER) pilot program in Alabama.

  • The reception and the meeting will be at the Hampton Inn and Suites. Discounted hotel rooms are available until March 10.
  • Note: There is no fee to attend the Retreat, and it is not necessary to register for it.
